Department for Working Life Development and Gender (ARGUS) is a part of Halmstad University, a regional university located on the west coast of Sweden. There are two main R&D and teaching profiles at Halmstad University - Technology characterised by Innovation and Entrepreneurship, and Social Science, Teaching, Nursing and Humanity Science directed towards Communication and Changing Processes. Approximately 6 000 students are registered at different courses and programmes.

The aim of ARGUS is to promote and support research and development into issues relating to women in SET and to equal opportunities. Within ARGUS we are working with several European networks and have during the last years been partners in about 25 projects within different European programmes. ARGUS is also the coordinator of WiTEC Sweden and is hosting the Swedish secretariat for WiTEC, the European Association for Women in Science, Engineering and Technology.
