WiTEC stands for “Women in Science, Engineering and Technology”. WiTEC is a European association consisting of national networks of universities, businesses and organisations, who all work together in order to motivate, support and promote women who choose to study and develop careers within the sectors of Science, Engineering and Technology (SET).

WiTEC was founded in 1988 as a network within the framework of the European COMETT programme. Since 2001 it has continued its activities as a registered association.

Currently there are 12 WiTEC national network co-ordinators based in Austria, Belgium, Estonia, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Italy, the Netherlands, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland and the UK.
