Social Networks in the Netherlands:
• The VHTO Network for female engineers:
http://www.vhto.nl The VHTO Network is a national network for women
with a higher technical/academic education in Science, Engineering, ICT and
Technology. The network has about 80 memebers and offers (in an informal way)
contact with other women with a higher technical education and career,
training, workshops and the yearly National VHTO Network Day. The aim of the
network is exchange experiences, supported by the VHTO office (Expert
organisation on girls/women and science/technology)
• NIMF:
http://www.science.uva.nl/misc/nimf NIMF is a nationwide network for
women in mathematics, physics, computer science, and related fields like
astronomy, electrotechnics, geology, chemical technology, etc. NIMF is an
informal network with over 100 members, and was founded in 1987. The aim of
the network is to enable women with a background in natural sciences to
exchange information and experiences in a pleasant and informal way.
• Vrouw online:
http://www.vrouwonline.nl is a dutch site for women in general. At this
site you can find information on for example : career, beauty and fashion,
combining career/children, with lots of links to social events and
organisations for women.
