Incubators:
In Netherlands there are several incubators and Science Parks to support
entrepreneurship. An incubator is an entity designed to nurture business
ideas or new technologies to the point that they become attractive to venture
capitalists. An incubator typically provides physical space and some or all
of the services - legal, managerial, technical - needed for a business idea
to be developed. Private equity firms often back incubators as a way of
generating early-stage investment opportunities.
A Science Park is an industrial nature suited to accommodate high technology,
with supporting amenities, which is associated on site with or is close to a
higher educational research establishment to provide cross-fertilization of
ideas between entrepreneurs and researchers for the purpose of enabling
academic knowledge to be applied to effective commercial use.
