The DISNEY-model
Entrepreneurship is about dreaming, planning/realizing and being critical to
your own ideas. That's the DISNEY-model: You have to go through the 3
phases: Dreaming, realizing and critisizing – and we recommend you to keep
the 3 phases sharply divided – to avoid your first dream to be killed by
critisizing it too early.
How to go about preparing yourself to start business, mentally,
physically?
Setting up a new enterprise starts mostly with an idea of a product or
service you want to sell. Before you start, you should study on the most
important aspects related to successfully setting up a business in the
Netherlands. What requirements do you have to satisfy in order to start a
business? What legal forms are there, what taxes you have to pay and what
licences or diploma's you need? Furthermore: the name of your company,
staff, financing, marketing, administration, workplace/office –these are all
subjects you have to think about and have ideas about that you usually write
down in your business plan.
The Chamber of Commerce in the Netherlands made a step-by-step plan and
checklist (in Dutch and English version) with all the aspects you have to
think and know about before setting up your enterprise.
