Entrepreneurship Training Programs:
Preparing students for academic entrepreneurship starts in their education.
In most European countries, universities develop training programs, projects
or other products to stimulate, orientate and facilitate entrepreneurship.
These programs/products make a business start-up or growth of a small- to
medium Enterprise (SME) more likely.
Entrepreneurship Training programs can offer modules, tailored study
programs, assessments, supervision and contacts with intermediary
organisations. Important parts of most entrepreneurship training programs
are: making a business plan, entrepreneurial
skills, marketing and financial management
Common for EU:
Making progress in promoting entrepreneurial attitudes and skills through
Primary and Secondary education is an important aim of the EU. Programs to
enhance personal and business skills include mostly personal development,
stimulating an entrepreneurial attitude and generating and testing business
ideas. Most programmes contains theoretical and practical modules involving
topics such as accounting, legal issues, management, administration, finance,
commerce, and marketing. Many programs have a modular structure that enables
participants to follow an individual pathway within a core framework of
courses and other support. Most enterprise training programmes revolved
around group-based activities that included course modules and workshops.
Certification and accreditation add value to the programmes. Regular training
modules, group work and individual support are essential elements of the
training programmes. Also mentoring, networking and study visits to companies
to learn about the practical side of a particular field of activity can be
parts of programs. Role models, mentoring and networking have proved to be
important parts in training programs in Europe that stimulate starting women
entrepreneurs For more information on European BEST projects on female
