Women In Business in Finland:
There are approximately 227 000 enterprises in Finland. It can be
mentioned that most of these enterprises are micro businesses that consist of
fewer than 10 employees. Further, Finish entrepreneurs are known as high
prestige workers. Also, approximately 33,3 percent of the Finish
entrepreneurs are women whereas 66.7 percent are male. In Finland around 36
000 entrepreneurs are known to be 34 years old or younger and out of those
entrepreneurs 66 percent are male and 34 percent are female. Further, this
age group consist of 61 percent self-employed entrepreneurs, 40 percent are
corporate companies and 4 percent are limited companies. Hence, around 70
percent of Finland's total entrepreneurs are between 41 to 60 years old.
The following will explain the different areas in which were enterprises can
be found in Finland as well as it will display how many people that are
employed in the various organisations:
• Micro enterprises (1– 9 persons), totally 210 484 people or 92,9 percent of
the population are entrepreneurs within this area
• Small enterprises (10 – 49 persons), totally 13 237 people or 5,8 percent
of the population are entrepreneurs within this area.
• Medium – size enterprises (50 – 249 persons), totally 2 303 people or 1
percent of the population are entrepreneurs within this area
• Large – scale enterprises (over 250 persons), totally 569 people or 0,3
percent of the population are entrepreneurs within this area.
