Facts and Figures in Estonia:

There is no information or statistical material on female entrepreneurs in Estonia. However, in the 1990s various gender and female organisations were established in Estonia. The reason for this is that there was a need to provide women orientation, find new employment opportunities and face new challenges under the dramatically changed socio-economic conditions. Also, since 1991 organisations such as the Women's Training Centre were established. Further, the Women's Training Centre conducts the following tasks: re information on European BEST projects on female entrepreneurship look at:

Since 1991  
  Women's business training and consultations, development of businesswomen's   networks, international contact seminars
 
1992   Initiator of the establishment of Business and Professional Women' Estonia organisation
 
Since 1995   Democracy training for women, women's integration into public life, gender equality
 
1997   One of the initiators of the establishment of the Estonian Women's Studies and Resource Centre
 
Since 1999   International and local businesswomen's mentoring programmes
 
Since 2001   Democracy training outside of Estonia Women's mobility programmes
 

Importantly, since 1991 more than 7 000 participants throughout Estonia have been involved in different types of gender related activities.
